A Miracle Kit from Patricia Wexler, MD?

Beauty Cred on 6 Dec 2006 at 12:00am

Purchasing skin care can be daunting and overwhelming, especially at the high prices for purchasing individual items.

Bath & Body Works offers Patricia Wexler's Starter Kit, usually priced at $65.00, but is now selling for $40.00. A miracle kit if it can help with facial lines and early signs of wrinkles.

The anti-aging skin care kit is marketed as being the complete answer to skin care needs with a 30 day supply for a range of skin products.

The kit includes: Universal Cleanser (1.5 fl oz), MMPi20 Skin Regenerating Serum, Skin Brightening Moisturizer SPF 30 and Intensive Night Reversal & Repair Cream (0.5 fl oz each) & Intensive 3-in-1 Eye Cream

The most interesting product is called the MMPi Skin Regenerating Serum. (MMP's are a major culprit in the aging of skin.) From cleansers, to moisturizers, to anti-aging serums, the scope of this kit is impressive.

People Magazine calls Patricia Wexler, M.D. the "secret weapon for celebrities and socialites." Her clients range from P. Diddy to Donna Karan. More important than her client roster is Wexler's philiosophy that, "You don't need a bathroom cabinet full of products to get results. Only the right ones."

Unfortunately I am someone who is experiencing an adverse reaction and I really wanted to find a product that I could use for my skin. I have never experienced itching and burning like this before and I'm no wimp. As I write, I am slathering my skin in aloe vera tryng to get some relief. Sadly, I'll have to return the starter kit I purchased back to B&B. P.S. I am not the "same" person that one post referenced.

First of all, it appears like some of the comments regarding red, swollen, itchy, etc. are written by the same person with different names. This person is also unregistered. Second, if you feel the prices are too high why don't you purchase them when they are on sale which is quite often? I have been using Patricia Wexler, M.D. products since they came on the market and have had absolutely no adverse reactions to any of them. I constantly get compliments on my complexion and I am in my 70's. Have used everything from high priced lines to Olay (which by the way is more expensive). If you don't like the products B&B accepts returns and gives you back your money.

I wish I had read the reviews before using this product. Like so many other people on here within 20 minutes of applying to my face and neck I was on fire and face looked like a tomato with bumps. I also had labored breathing but I washed my face with dove, applied an astringent and took 2 benadryls , within a couple hours my face had started to look alittle normal. I have never been allergic to anything before. I also found that not one negative review was allowed to be posted on bath and body works site about this product. Healthy products made for your body don't cause these kinds of reactions in people who don't normally have allergic reactions.

Purchased the starter kit. Had not heard anything about it. If my skin never improves anymore than it did after the first 24 hrs I will be more than happy. I'm 68 with really young skin (for my age), now it's even better, wrinkles on my cheeks are almost gone!!!!GREAT!!!

I have never reacted to any lotions or creams! This stuff--wrinkle smoother--caused a reaction within minutes! Had somewhere to go but now have to go get medicine. Red blotchy and on fire--just like others.

I love these products! Most of my friends and I use them and we all saw results within the first few weeks and have continued using them. I've been using this line for over a year and have never been this loyal to a skin care line before. The microdermabrasion is the best and MMPi serum is awesome. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

I got a gift card for Bath and Body for Christmas-I purchased the night cream. I honestly have seen results in two days. The lines around my eyes are much diminished. I'm 58 years old and I think this product is fabulous. I've noticed a few comments that said the product burned their skin. I have average skin (tone and sensitivity) and had no problem.

I got the MMPi Skin Regenerating Serum in a gift basket and I've used it twice so far (this morning and tonight.) It makes my face so soft it's unbelievable. My make-up glided on as if I'd used a primer and stayed on all day. (I usually need to touch up once or twice) I love it and will be trying more of Patricia Wexler's products in the near future. Oh and as for what other people saying about being thick?...I have no idea what they used but this is not even a cream or lotion but more of a gel type consistency. Not thick at all. And I have had no burning what-so-ever.

Wow, what a product line for your face. I have been using your products for about a year. Currently I use the Skin Brightening Daily Moisturizer, MMPi Skin Regenerating Serum and the Intensive Night Reversal and Repair Cream. I tried at least 20+ products to Brighten my skin and my skin tone but none of them worked. Now my skin tone have made my skin tone more even and my sun spots have lightened my sun spots to almost zero. I have been told by many people that say I look at least ten years younger. I promote your product to every one who ask what I use. The best part is your skin products are about half the price than Department Stores. Thank you for developing wonderful products. Sincerely, Andrea, Ohio

I am now on my second month of these products and I love it. I am 29 and am just noticing fine lines and the beginnings of crows feet. After using this for just a month, I have noticed a big difference. It took me about the first week to figure out how much I needed to use and getting used to all the products. I use the microderm abrasion everyday and the others twice a day. I have relatively sensitive skin and haven't had one problem. I am wondering if quite a few people just aren't reading directions? Hmm.. The lines around my eyes are almost completely gone and the dark circles I had are gone. I love the kit and my next step is to buy each product in it. If for some reason you do have a reaction to it: Take It Back!! You can return it anytime if you don't like it. That is what makes it so great. No matter what, you won't be wasting your money. I strongly recommend this product and I think that it is worth so much more than the price.

I tried the kit and immediately noticed that the pink MMPi regenerating syrum made my face break out worse than ever. I am talking big, nasty white heads. I gave that particular product the benefit of the doubt and kept is up for the full 30 days. That particular product was a disaster for me. I also had a terrible time with the night eye cream, it made my eyes water something fierce and I wasn't ever able to tolerate using it. I do have to say though that the dual action foaming cleanser and the dermabrasion products did work wonders on my huge pored cheeks. The only products I continue to use are those three. Everything else did not go over too well and caused more breakouts than I started with. Her products are like everyone else's, hit or miss. I also do not like the fact that there aren't complete ingredient listings easily found.

My gosh the post about the eye swelling freaked me out... I have never used this line. Although I received some of the high-end products as a gift from a PR agent I don't know if I want to actually use them or return them...

I have been using this product for a few months. I read the reviews before trying it and then bought the trial box at Bath & Body Works (as the large sizes are REALLY expensive - it's an inexpensive way to try it out). I have to say, it works very well for me - except the eye cream - that really stings so I don't use it. I use MAC's eye cream and love that (btw). The reviews are mixed - just like our skin. I'd say to anyone thinking of trying it that you just have to see how your skin does with it. I have had a great outcome, but understand and feel for those who it has not worked for at all. Given our economy, B&BW is running the trial size for a even less than last Xmas (and they have had deals on the large sizes - like $45 when normally $145!). Hope this review helps you determine your solution.

Sandy, try going to Google and putting in "Wexler Coupon"; you may have some luck. I know a few months ago I got on in Allure Magazine. And maybe just ask at your Bath and Body store. The last time I asked, she told me about a promotion that gave half off a kit, plus half off the large night cream if you spent $35.00. I'm set for awhile now! And, like I said, she told me I can bring back the empty (or half empty) bottles for a complete refund if I didn't think it worked.

I HAVE TRIED THE PATRICIA WEXLER PRODUCTS FOR ABOUT 7 MONTHS AND I HAVE NOT GOTTEN SO MANY COMPLIMENTS ON MY SKIN EVER. THIS PRODUCTS DOES WHAT IT SAYS FOR ME THERE WAS SOME GETTING USE TO THE MICRODEBRASION AT FIRST BUT AFTER USING IT EVERYDAY MY SKIN STARTED TO RESPOND LIKE ANY OTHER PRODUCTS YOU HAVE TO GIVE IT TIME TO WORK. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO EVERYONE

Has anyone ever had their skin turn darker with the wexler products. HYperpigmentation is the offical word for it, it seems to have started very gradually around the outter edge of my face where I usually begin putting on my wexler products. I have seen two dermatologists who say it is malasma but they don't know why I have it so bad and am just now getting it (age 40- not pregnant). Just curious if anyone else had anything like this happen. I do love the Wexler products and my favorite is the eye cream.

I have just started this regiment. So far (2 days) :) I love the feel it gives my skin. As far as bad reactions, I know I can't get any kind of product in my eyes; I have an allergy type of dry eyes reaction. So, I'm always careful about that. I love the light scent, and the night cream especially. I can't wait to see me in 1 month! p.s. When I bought the products, I was told in no uncertain terms, that I could bring back the empty containers (or half empty) at any time for a store credit. How much better can you get than that?

I absolutely love this product! I totally see a difference in my skin. I have not had a reaction to any of the products, but alot of them say not to use around the eye area, maybe misuse is the problem for individuals with swelling in the eye area? Maybe the people that did not see a difference in their skin are younger and already have great skin? I dont know but I know that I love it. It faded my age spots, and made my skin so soft but never oily. Id totally recomend this.

I am 39 years old and had pores you could drive a mack truck into. I have used the anti-aging sample kit for about one month. My skin is noticeably smoother and more even-toned. My pores do appear to be better - not invisible...just better. I went in this morning and purchased another kit. I did try a sample of the skin brightening, pore refining serum while I was there. I have been experiencing a very slight burning sensation and a little redness across my cheeks and forehead. Nothing extreme though. Overall, I am incredibly pleased with the products. I was just layed off from work and am concerned with being able to afford them as time goes along. Any ideas on the cheapest place to purchase these products?

Jury still out. I bought the kit 2 weeks ago and had the same, red, burning, bumps/lumps on my jaws that had been described above. I will give it another week to see if the positive outweighs the negative than I will utilize the money back guarantee if need be. I have sensitive skin…perhaps this is not for me.

I have tried everything imaginable over-the-counter for my acne. I am on prescription medication for it as well. My boyfriend bought me the anti-acne starter kit, and I have never had such wonderful results. Along with my prescription and this skin care kit, my face has never looked clearer. Although it is pricey, it is so worth it if you are wanting to be blemish-free. I have been using the products for just a couple weeks now, and my face is almost completely clear! It is amazing.

i started using the anti acne and anti again products. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Im 38 and have really sensitive fair skin. It hasnt dried it out, and after one week I started to notic a change in my skin. I used to have clear skin as a teen-- bad as an adult. I not longer get black heads or cyctic acne. Ive tried most products out there. The only issues I have had are learning what products to use in what order. The directions just arent that clear. Especially if you are tyring to integrate the two systems. The other issue is the acne spot treatment. I dont know if it had sat on the shelf too long but its pretty hard and not very creamy. The kits are great because you can try everything for not a ton of $, but be prepared to drop bank when you go for the system. It would be great if they had a repeat incentive. But I wont ever give it up now that ive found it.
