anti-aging skin care productsPerhaps you didn't hear-- there's a revolution underway. Health and beauty are merging into a new industry that offers exciting products and consumer-friendly services.

If you've recently bought a powerful new anti-aging skin care product like DermaLastyl-B or visited a medispa, you're part of this revolution. It gives all of us incredible choice and solutions to our very specific skin care needs.

Today I learned about an anti-aging skin care technology that I think exemplifies the incredible innovation we're seeing from the anti-aging industry. The product is called Nurigene which is produced by a firm called Avicena, known better for their drug research related to Lou Gehrig's disease and Parkinson's disease.

In a recent clinical study by the company, Nurigene users showed a 43% increase in cell turnover, which is a key means of improving skin texture and fighting off facial lines.

From the official Nurigene website that refers to their Dermaceuticals:

"Our study's findings clearly demonstrate that subjects using Nurigene are combating the effects of aging on skin and experiencing the presence of younger looking skin. Data shows that Nurigene is causing new cells to migrate through the epidermis and replace older cells on the skin's surface at a much more rapid rate than untreated skin," said Belinda Tsao-Nivaggioli, PhD, Avicena's chief executive officer. "The results of this study are very exciting, particularly in the context of a very large dermaceutical product market in which proven anti-aging products are craved by consumers."

Nurigene is undergoing additional clinical trials, so you shouldn't expect to see it at your Nordstrom cosmetics counter anytime soon. But be encouraged. There's never been a better time in history to have facial lines or damaged skin that needs repair!
