97 year old woman follows her dreams to tinseltown

When I read about Mae Laborde, a ninety-seven year old woman who decided to try her hand at an acting career four years ago, at the age of ninety-three, I could barely believe my eyes.
Not only is Mae living it up at nearly 100 years old, she is challenging herself and taking on new and exciting experiences. Her attitude and zest for life are the ultimate examples of the anti-aging lifestyle.
Steve Lopez wrote an article about Laborde in The Los Angeles Times entitled "Getting Paid to Act Her Age: 97." The piece describes Mae as, "...a central casting granny, with a smile that says she just crocheted a scarf and took some fresh Toll House cookies out of the oven." The effervescent Mae describes acting as "more interesting than sitting at home." Her new hobby will enhance her days and keep her spirit young.
Her agent Sherri Spillane offers, "I have more fun representing [Mae] than any other client. If she doesn't hear from me for a few days, she calls and says, 'I haven't heard from you, and I want to go out on another audition.' "
Keep your eyes peeled for Mae's appearance in upcoming promos for the Bill Maher show. The grim reaper is after her in these segments, but Mae is sure her number is far from up in real life.
