New L'Oreal Ads Inspired by Airplane Food
Right there--at the mention of those airline trolleys barrelling down the aisle with your "food"--should've been the point that someone way up high at L'Oreal said, "I'm not so sure we want the association". But no.
Coming soon to a Korean Air flight near you, cosmetics giant L'Oreal and Korean Air literally rolled out a new advertising campaign to increase inflight duty free sales. The joint project, which began this June, involves inflight meal trolleys decorated with L'Oreal advertisements on both sides, and intends to direct an advertising message to both male and female passengers. According to www.moodiereport.com, the operation which will run for three months, will feature 2000 L'Oreal-decorated trolleys, and will cover Korean Air flights between South Korea and Japan, and South Korea and China.

The L'Oreal advertisements showcase the latest skincare products for men and women. The L'Oreal Advance Revitalift Double Lifting ad features the popular Chinese actress Gong Li, who is also the brand's spokesmodel in Asia. The L'Oreal Intense Vita Lift Double Action ad features Hollywood star Pierce Brosnan, the brand's newest spokesmodel for its Men Expert line.
Apparently this is a world-first--to have in-flight, on-trolley ads in support of duty-free sales. Personally, if Skymall doesn't do it for me, seeing an ad on the cart just below the prep of my dry turkey sandwich with packet of Hellmann's Dijonnaise won't either. And keep in mind, there's been no mention of samples...I think they'd fare much better with an in-flight cart of LatestInBeauty.com the new UK site that offers up try-before-you-buy sampling--I'd buy that!
What's your take on having L'Oreal "served" to you on these carts? Let us know! And if you've tried L'Oreal's Advance Revitalift Double Lifting...WiWi: Was it Worth it?
