I was looking at the new features on my MacBook and there's one called PhotoBooth. Before I knew it, I had taken this photo of myself, before my shower and my daily toilette. So this could be said to be the "real" me, unretouched by makeup.
Clearly, this looks like one big "before" picture. Unfortunately, however, it's "after." After the tattooed eyebrows (that worked) and lips (that didn't) and Moh's surgery (that worked better than any other alternative.
Fortunately, I'm not vain. And I don't go out of the house like this. But I do remind myself of the Dove campaign I wrote about a few days ago -- the one where they make a woman into a beauty with products and stylists.
Some products work better than others. That's why I've been writing this blog. And it's often the simple products that work best. Last week there was an article in the NY Times about face-washing as one of the keys to the fountain of youth. I fully believe that, because any number of dermatologists have told me that my washcloth would be my best friend.
But there are two other small products that make a big difference: putting on lipstick (which is why I wanted my lips tattooed) and combing your hair. Click on the attachment below to see what a difference it makes.

What is Moh's surgery?
1/4/08
Moh's surgery is a skin cancer surgery that removes cancerous cells layer by layer, biopsying them while you wait. They use it when you have a skin cancer and don't want a scar. I had it on my nose, and you can hardly see it. If I had not had it, I would have had a big hole in my nose. Wear your sunblock!!!
