Lipodissolve ban

Tom on Aug 20, 2007

A RealSelf member's lipodissolve review "No results" alerted us to news that if you live in Kansas, lipodissolve is not a viable option for fat removal (exception made for drug trials).

Citing "potentially disastrous effects of unproven drugs," the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts announced the new regulation that restricts the administration of phosphatidylcholine or sodium deoxycholate (active ingredients in lipodissolve).

While "No results" states the FDA has banned the treatment, we are only able to confirm the State of Kansas ruling.  The US FDA is continuing to evaluate the fat melting injections.

I am a fig. employee and I can tell you that • Fig.’s foremost priority is patient safety. • Like the Board, we want the very best for our patients, but contrary to the Board’s stated opinion, international clinical experience over decades has shown many patients have achieved successful results with the lipodissolve procedure. • Based on medical research – which we shared with the Board – and our own experiences, lipodissolve has shown to be successful for many patients and is an important option for patients. • We encourage you to visit fig.com for a list of recent research that demonstrates the safety of lipodissolve. • Medical professionals around the globe have safely used the natural ingredients in lipodissolve for multiple purposes for decades. • Our commitment to patient safety is proven by the extensive training of our staff, the advanced protocols in place for our centers, and the involvement of highly respected physicians throughout the country who ensure fig. patients receive exceptional patient care.

I think it was all planned. This is not the first time the founder of fig. has opened a company and filed backruptcy (atleast that is what i am finding on line) I feel like he intentionally took advantage of all of us, and will do it again. Chapter 11 is meant to help people in hard times, not to assist them in robbing people. I am all for a class action law suit, I just need some direction as to where to start.

I too was taken advantage of 4 treatments. I look worse now and 8000.00 on Care Credit. of which I paid half. I thought they were FDA approved. Especially since GE Money Bank - Care Credit- endorsed them. Would be happy to join a Class Action Suit. Thanks. Ron
