Light-up lipgloss for 40+ eyes

If this were a number of years ago, I'd be writing about light-up lip gloss truly for trendy purposes with the requisite reference to dim ladies' room lights and a seriously hot guy at the bar who needs to be impressed with lush lips. But alas, this is my 42nd year and while I'm not quite down presbyopia lane yet, my eyes are beginning to notice some changes.

So with that in mind, I bring these two newcomers to light (no pun intended). Go Light on My Lips Lighted Lip Gloss and ModelCo Lip Lights Ultra Shine Lip Gloss both feature LED lights concealed inside the lid and small mirrors on the side panels. It's a bit playful, fun and my daughter would think I'm just soooo Sharpay (if you have to ask, skip the mini LED lights and get a Maglite to guide you through pop culture)--but more importantly, it has some function to it. And I hope it inspires some gadgets like light-up magnifying tweezers and telescoping eyeshadow applicators.
