Laser Hair Removal is Painful, but 2/3 Would Do It Again [VIDEO]

Have you ever considered laser hair removal for that area you HATE to shave? What stopped you from doing it? Perhaps it was the thought of feeling “rubber bands popping on your skin” over and over. Or that it costs roughly $1700 for one of possibly six or more needed treatments.

Pain and cost aside, over 2/3 of RealSelf reviewers say laser hair removal is Worth It. If you’ve been toying with the idea of finishing off your follicles, check out this informative video from Project Beauty. You get a peek at what the process entails, and you can hear a first person description of the pain and results.

Though it wasn’t pain-free, Angela points out that “the whole concept of having to shave less, if not ever having to think about it, is really quite remarkable...if you look at it over your lifetime of what you would spend on hair removal, it probably costs less than waxing or shaving.”

If you’re eager to try this for yourself, remember to seek out a provider with ample experience -- some of those who rated laser hair removal Not Worth It walked away with burns. Dermatologic surgeon Dr. Mitchell Schwartz cautions that “this can occur even when optimal laser treatment parameters are used. They are usually superficial and rarely cause scarring.”

"if you look at it over your lifetime of what you would spend on hair removal, it probably costs less than waxing or shaving" - Laser hair removal seems like quite an expensive beauty treatment but if you total up over a life time the money spend on other hair removal products then it works out as a grea deal. The only problem is you have to be able to afford the big lump sum. Not only that but it also saves time as you will not be shaving anymore.

It does tend to take 5-6 treatments for full hair removal to be achieved.

I'm thinking about doing this, too. Why does she even have to shave under her arms if she's had this done, though?

From what I've heard, for many it doesn't completely eliminate the hairs, just drastically reduces the number. Of course if she hasn't completely her full treatment cycle yet that might change. Has something to do with hair growing in cycles too.

Oh and for all the fair-haired beauties out there -- there may be laser removal hope in the future.
