Kate Winslet weight loss

Kate Winslet and her voluptuous figure are making headlines once again. Women in Hollywood are constantly being scrutinized for their weight---they're either scolded for being too thin or chided for being too "fat." Kate has been in the middle of the weight debate since Titanic.

Kate may have attracted the limelight by speaking out recently against the trend of diminutive actresses, shrinking before our eyes. People Magazine has reported on Kate's latest statements on her own figure. Grazia Magazine, a British publication has falsely reported that Winslet has been visiting a diet specialist in Los Angeles. Pictured at the left at this year's Golden Globe Awards, and soon to be walking the red carpet as a Best Actress Oscar Nominee, the actress calls the allegations "completely untrue." She adds, "I'm going to fight for myself. I don't want people thinking that I would ever go to a diet doctor, I would ever buy into that stuff. I never have done, I never will."

Winslet expresses her desire to be a role model to young women, also stating, "I will continue to say what I feel about this issue of women being thin and emaciated. It's just out of control. I know I'm a role model to young women. It's a role that I take very, very seriously and I would never want anyone to ever think I was a hypocrite in doing something like going to a diet doctor, for goodness sake. I mean, it's really, really ridiculous."

Kate's weight was also recently targeted due to speculation that her photos in British Vogue were airbrushed to make her appear much thinner.

I wish the media would focus their attention on the immense talent of one of my all time favorite actresses, instead of distorting her healthy figure for better or worse.

I admire Kate soo much. Im an overweight teenager trying to prove myself, and feel that I have to prove myself more than a thin girl would have to. After seeing all of the fuss being made about her in Hollywood, I say Kate if you ever see this, I admire you more than you know. You make me feel equel(for a lack of better terms). Im in the age frame of that it means so much to fit in and figure out who I am and how I want my life to go. Seeing you preserveer even though people say you've got a "voluptuous" body is a more than a role model to me. I can not say enough about you. I talk about you with my friends, I have a blog about you coming soon, and I just adore you. So dont beleive anything anyone says when they say you "fat" because honey your far from fat. Your beautiful as you. And I think I've just realized this about myself. Funny thing is, is that Im in the same predictiment as you were when you were my age. 16 years old, 185lbs., size 11 shoe, and the only difference is that Im 5'6. Haha. I found that amazing when I read that. I love you and would shit myself if I met you. Its my dream, just to praise you on how much you help me. Thanks again. -Corale
