My Invitation to a Botox Party

Botox Party Material

Last week I got an invitation from a friend to a Botox party at her home this weekend.  She's 38, and she was telling us in the Evite, "everyone thinks I look great, and now I am going to share my secret." So she has already been having these shots!

How is she going to keep this up for the next fifty years (the average life expectancy of women is now well up into the 80's)?

Those shots hurt. I've had them all: Botox, Restylane, Juvederm. Every couple of years, a new and better one comes along -- fewer clumps, fewer bruises. But you still have to get those shots very 3-6 months. And never mind the cost, it's the pain. For some reason, and I think it's the places I have them done (around the lips), I find them painful even with topicals.

I'd love to hear some opinions besides my own.

I have been introduced the world of BOTOX, through a home party my girlfriend had hosted back in December. She is almost 50, and has the skin appearance of someone my age (34). I figured what ever she was doing is obviously working for her, whats to lose? (come to find out she also uses fillers for any line she sees coming in, and fills it before we all notice, haha) The actual party was comfortable, fun, and informative. I was anxious about the needles, and with a low tolerance for pain, was expecting the worst. Likely to say, I am hosting my own BOTOX party next week, have 11 guests coming to enjoy my new "favorite item". The price is very reasonable when done at home, its clean, safe and as long as you can trust the Doctor, there should be no reason why it cant be done and enjoyed by people who might feel intimidated by the actual office visit. I am actually having my lips plumped up also in 2 weeks, and cant wait. With a topical cream, I am hoping it will give me a little more fullness I am seeking, and the extra boost that any "stay at home" mom can always use, I'm hoping those needles are worth it!! :>) - Kim

Hello- thank you for sharing your experience with us avid readers of RealSelf. I am in the process of hosting a Dysport Party at my home with a dear and professional physician at my home. I would also like to invite a designer purse consultant, spray tanning services, Lattise and adult oriented fun clothing & toys in time for Valentine's Day. My concern is serving alcohol - some parties offer it and other discourage it. My age group is late thirties through late fifties. i'm 37 and will be turning 38 in April - I love all of this stuff (Dysport, Fillers, Peels, Microderma, etc.) I try to do as much as possible to maintain my youth (pro-active) and trying hard to be (re-active) to signs of aging. If you have any tips or suggestions on hosting my very first party - i'd love to hear it. I'm more nervous about hosting than getting shots near my eyeballs! Ha!
