Hair Restoration Isn't Just for Men

Can you recall the last time you saw a hair loss treatment marketed towards women? Plenty of ladies see dramatic hair thinning and recession as they age, but mainstream beauty media never talks about it.

The most important thing women should know about hair transplants is that candidacy depends on what caused the hair loss. So, if hair loss is due to a thyroid problem or an auto-immune condition like lupus, a transplant may not be the best choice.  

But on the other hand, if it's the result of inherited hair loss,"the results can be excellent," says Dr. Jack Fisher. "About 15% of my patients are women who have genetic hair loss. The reason it works for these patients is that they have good donor hair."
