Fullbar diet is full of it

Fullbar, created by Dr. Michael A. Snyder, is basically a granola-looking pre-meal bar that you eat, along with 8 oz. of water, 30 minutes prior to your actual meal. The 30-minute lead time allows the bar to bulk up in your stomach, creating a full feeling.
According to the Fullbar site, "With FullBar, you can achieve the same results without the surgery!" Gastric bypass surgery, that is.
The proof is in the pudding (sorry for the mention of dessert) from the Fullbar site:
- 95% of the people who had 10 or more pounds to lose, lost an average of 11.5 pounds in 12 weeks.
- People lose an average of 40% of their excess body weight in just three months.
Here's my beef(s)...
1. If I want to lose 10 pounds and keep motivated about it, the Fullbar plan will, on average, help me lose less than a pound a week over 12 weeks. Weight loss in moderation, yes. Motivational? Not really.
2. If I'm aiming to lose 10 pounds—heck 20 pounds—of excess body weight I should figure on losing 40% (on average!)—i.e., 4 or 8 pounds over 3 months. Woohoo!
3. The plan is sold as a 3-month program (get the 3rd month free!) for around $175. So I bulk up for 3 months, trick my tummy into thinking I've eaten, lose 4-8 pounds, then what? If my stomach is used to feeling full, what happens when I just go back to trying to eat "normal" meals (sans Fullbars)? Just asking...

I agree. My husband & I ordered the full bars and didn't get any results. They don't taste bad but really didn't make me eat any less 30 minutes after eating it with water. We still have about 8 boxes unopened if anyone wants me to send them one.

When will people learn that there is no "easy" way to lose weight. You have to LEARN (for most of us anyway) to eat proper portions and (no way out of this one) take in fewer calories. We also MUST move MORE. Very simple, but requires educating yourself to understand what you now eat, how to change it in meaningful ways, get moving, and then, stay with it. The sooner you feel cheated by these charlatans promising you some silly gimmick, the sooner you can learn to eat properly, enjoy healthy food, get some exercise, and lose weight once and for all. As for feeling "fuller", who ever told you you have to always feel full? Set out what you are supposed to eat for the day and then split it up. When it's gone, you're DONE. Go for a walk, keep busy and you'll get used to it. When you start wearing smaller sizes and people start complimenting you and begging for your "secret", tell them it's "magic" until they are ready to take you seriously and then tell them the simple truth!
