I-Slices Innovations Eye Slices is promoted as the home spa treatment for the eyes. Based on their promises, let's see if I'm a candidate:

  • Puffiness (from sinus and stress) YES
  • Tired eyes (from late nights and computer work) GOT 'EM
  • Dark circles (from diet and sleepless nights) ARGUABLY
  • Redness (from allergies and fatigue) YES
  • Irritation (from dust and pollen) DITTO
  • Signs of aging ADMITTEDLY

This may be right up there with one of my favorite little "life instructions": when 8 people tell you you're drunk, lie down. So it's looking like it's unanimous: Eye Slices should be for me. So I'm trying Eye Slices and here's my first impression.

Eye Slices come in a little handy green compact case--like a giant contact lens holder, minus the spilling solution. Each Eye Slice is hermetically sealed until ready for use. I peel open the Eye Slices to reveal pale green gel-like pads. The pads have no scent, but they're coated in a light serum-y solution (ie, the stuff that will get rid of the list above). According to the ingredients, the solution is a mix including Aloe Ferox Leaf Extract, Panthenol, Hexapeptide-11, and Hydrolyzed Rice Bran Protein.

The way to wear Eye Slices is to place them over your eyes, molding each to your eye contours and then leaving them on for 5-20 minutes. The package says that Eye Slices are reusable and will last for about 5 treatments of 10 minutes each. I'd like that to be longer, as I could use something like this almost daily--don't I have that list of issues up there on a daily basis?

I didn't get the full 20 minutes, and if I did I'd probably have fallen asleep. But with 3 little ones around, 5 minutes was a luxury and I took it. My eyes definitely feel relaxed, and they are a bit less puffed. But it's the overall refreshed feeling that I really like--and that can of course be in part from just lying down for five. I can't say that my "signs of aging" are visibly less--my fine lines look moisturized, but that's about it.

Was it Worth it?  I'd use Eye Slices for a quick pick-me-up, particularly if I wanted to look refreshed before a dinner out or special event. I'd take them travelling as well. They definitely made me feel pampered and refreshed, but I'd prefer it if they lasted longer--5 treatments per set is not all that much.

Just 5 uses for $20 is not much at all. I may not buy it afterall. Thanks for the insight.
