Do You Have Ugly Armpits?

Raise your hand if you think you have "ugly underarms." You're not alone. Most women actually desire prettier armpits.

Unilever, the maker of Dove deodorant and soap, recently surveyed female deodorant consumers. They found that 93% of women consider their armpits unattractive. They also found that one in three women feel more confident when their pits are in good condition.

"We spoke with over 500 women, and almost every one of them thinks that their underarms are unattractive," says Mike Dwyer, U.S. marketing director for Unilever's deodorant business.

Prettier armpits is an real concern amongst women on RealSelf. Women frequently ask about sagging skin, excess skin and underarm discoloration. Did you know that excess breast tissue usually causes sagging underarms, not excess fat? Something as standard as liposuction would not solve this, but excising would. So consultation is key for improving each person's situation.

With this in mind, Unilever found another angle to try to sway female consumers to try another deodorant – a product that makes your pits prettier. The new Dove Ultimate Go Sleeveless claims its specialized moisturizers will give women better-looking underarms in five days.

At the very least, using a new deodorant is far less taxing than lasers or chemical peels to fix your underarms.

Who knew having pretty pits was such a problem?
