Sarah Jessica Parker is a natural beautyA guy I know kvetches, upon occasion, that his wife makes him watch“Sex and the City” every night before they go to sleep. Me thinks he doth protest too much.

What’s not to like after all? Four good looking, well-dressed/scantily clad chicks talking about and/or having sex for half an hour in the privacy of his own bedroom – what could be better?

Oooooh, "Sports Center." My bad.

I, too, watch syndicated SATC with some regularity. It makes me happy. Nostalgic, even. But, truth be told, it freaks me out a bit too. If you watch the eps from the first couple of seasons, all four actresses look SO young that it’s downright unsettling. To me, anyway. Not so to Carrie Bradshaw herself, Sarah Jessica Parker.

“I haven’t had Botox or collagen or anything. I have lines,” says the 41 year-old Emmy winner. "This whole obsession with plastic surgery in Hollywood is just out of control. When I see everyone around me starting to look different, it's not only odd but it puts those of us who haven't had work done in a strange place.”

Hmmm. I’ve never really thought of it like that before. It’s like a “Star Belly Sneetches” tale for the Restalyne crowd.

Some older people get things done to look younger but some don’t so they appear even older by comparison. And, pretty soon…no one really knows how old any one is just by looking at them. Wow. How would Doc Seuss spin the allegory?

Then again, Mrs. Broderick looks pretty darn good and maybe just hasn’t had that “Yikes” moment that happens to so many of us and spurs us to test the waters…

"Look, I'd be a fool to say 'Never!' because who knows how I'll feel about myself in four years? But right now, I don't want to do things that I think are unnecessary and I wish that more of us felt that kind of courage. I think it'd be better for everyone." Fair enough. Now, while we wait for people to snap to their senses, let’s learn how this irrepressible mom to 3 1/2 year-old James Wilke stays so darn tiny…(you might want to grab a pen to take notes)

"It's just genetics and I don't deserve it. I don't have a fitness regime, but I have a high-energy New York lifestyle. I take advantage of my surroundings. I walk everywhere. I get off a bus early and walk the rest of the way. I'm just one of the lucky ones, I guess."

Alrighty then. Thanks for sharing.

I so agree- love Sex and the City. Tevo it, and watch the same ones over and over- the weight fluctuations and aging is a bit disturbing, but great too. Nice to see that it is not just the us that age, but the celebs too.
SJP is lovely. I like her style and since I am not teeny tiny like she is, find it a source of amazement. Not that I want to be tiny, just that I find myself glued to her. Even in those gap ads.
love your post.

We will only be able to purchase SJP's line from Steve & Barry's. There is only one mall near me (the others are a little farther away) in Colorado. I too, am looking forward to checking out Bitten.
