Celebrity Buzz: Please Stop Asking Tara Reid About Her Plastic Surgery

Tara Reid plastic surgeryFor Tara Reid, it's time for reinvention.  The actress is enjoying a resurgence back in the spotlight due to the recent release of American Pie's third sequel, American Reunion.  She's ready to talk about acting again, but NOT about her plastic surgery.

In an interview with Australia’s News.com.au, she was asked about her various past procedures and Reid got defensive.

"Can I ask you something?" she said to the reporter. "How many women do you know who've had plastic surgery?  Almost everyone has. I don't know why it's such a big deal. Yeah, I had it. End of story."

It's clear that Reid is sick of hearing about her plastic surgery and sick of being asked about it.  Why after all these years is she still infamous for it?

After a decade of hard core partying, red carpet mishaps and failed marriages, it seems the 36-year-old actress is best known for what she's had done.  Maybe it is because she was one of the first actresses to actually admit she had work done.  In a 2006 interview for Us Weekly, she openly discussed her botched breast implants and liposuction procedures that resulted in uneven breasts and a deformed midsection.  Her next surgeon, Dr. Steven Svehlak performed a doughnut mastopexy (a breast lift procedure) and additional lipo to correct Reid's surgical mistakes.

But, she is ready to move on from all that.

"It's annoying," she continued. "It's as if I'm the only person in the world who's had it. I don't want to be a poster child for it. I've done a lot more stuff in my life than have plastic surgery."

The big picture here is that for a celebrity, any procedure seems to be news.  But, why?  Clearly it shouldn't be and it's a shame that's what is defining who she is.  It shouldn't define her or anyone.

Do you think Tara is unfairly associated with her botched plastic surgery?
