What age is too old for Bright & Bold Nails?

Beauty Cred on 19 Jul 2008 at 11:12am

I was having an "I'm too old for this" moment recently. See, the Beauty Cred team is comprised of women who sometimes are referred to as "girls", and also those of us who have graduated to the "m'am" stage. We were recently talking nailcare--growth enhancers, dry cuticles, hands that don't match faces in appearance--and, of course, what's "in" in nailcolor.

Essie's brights have been out in full force for the 20-something crowd, but at 42, I'm over it. Still, I see women of a certain age at my manicurist's salon who are going bold--and with nail extensions to boot.

Young Hollywood is loving the bold 80's-inspired colors and CelebrityBeautyBuzz.com found aNeon Nails are hot this summerctress Diane Kruger sporting a hot pink/neon pink nail polish to match her shoes. And how old is Diane Kruger? (Note: she hasn't even hit the big 3-0 yet).

The limited edition Essie Neon Polish in bright neons will definitely get your nails noticed--but will you go there?

Let us know what you think--how old is too old for bold, loud, neon-bright colors on nails?

Have you tried Essie Neon Polish? WiWi: Was it Worth it?

I stopped wearing bright neon nails when I was 17 LOL....I just couldn't be bothered with nail polish at all. Now at 39 I am finding a little nail polish makes me feel polished and a bit younger - but I too am most comfortable with subtle roses and nudes. I think its time to stop wearing the neons around the younger side of the mid-thirties - depending on your preservation level...This is also the approximate time mini-skirts start to look a bit dumb...
