Prom: no longer just gowns and corsages, now Botox and Restylane

I've officially reached the age where I am employing the term, "Kids these days..."
The toughest decision I had to make when it came to my prom night, aside from which dress I would wear, which incidentally became more of an outfit I put together from various items found around my household, as my greatest fear was that another girl would arrive wearing the same floor length chiffon as me... was, do I want a wrist corsage or a pin-on one? These days, I have a feeling that teenagers preparing for prom night are not stopping to smell the roses...
According to an article in The New York Post, "Prom$ can be Grand Nights," present day teens are concerned with far weightier, pricier issues and options than floral accents.
While I decided between bronze or peach eyeshadow and matte or shimmer lipstick, some Class of 2007, teenage girls are opting for surgically enhanced, fuller lips, and a Botox induced smoother forehead.
Here's an excerpt from the article:
"Dr. Lewis Feder said two teens came to his Fifth Avenue office for some pre-prom primping that included Botox between the eyes.
'They both had very hyperactive muscles,' said the Fifth Avenue doctor. 'We gave them each half a syringe, and the muscles are smooth and beautiful.'
He said he has also given three other girls - two from Westchester and one from Manhattan - Restylane injections for artfully fattened lips that cost about $600 each.
'Their parents authorized me,' he said."
Readers, what do you think of teenage girls using cosmetic surgery to prep for prom night? Is it a sign of the times we should embrace, or a premature foray into cosmetic surgery?
