SkinMedica SkinMedica Acne System

With so many acne products on the market and really only one of two primary active ingredients in any of them (either benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid) it's typical that many acne sufferers fall into one of two camps: fans of benzoyl peroxide or fans of salicylic acid. It comes down to whichever works best on your particular skin.

Looking for an acne regimen that includes the benefits of both benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid?

Here are 3 systems that combine the two:

1.Obagi Medical Clenziderm M.D. Starter Set

2. SkinMedica Acne System

3. Solvere Acne Clearing Kit

In my experience, salicylic acid has been far more effective while also gentler on the skin than benzoyl peroxide. In my research, I have come across sites that acknowledge the fact that benzoyl peroxide is unnecessarily irritating to the skin. It's just not worth it. Popular acne treatments that use benzoyl peroxide as its active ingredient often need to create a 3 or 4 step system just to compensate for the dramatic side-effects.

i have to say i am not a huge fan of neither salicylic and definitely not benzoyl peroxide... salicylic has anti-inflammatory effects and is definitely less harsh..some things i find better are azlaeic acid (finacea) retin- a AHA acids sulfur tea tree oil i think people need to start thinking about their other options ecspecially when it come to benzoyl it will prolonge red marks and can burn your skin..i dont see much good in putting a harsh bleach on your face...tea tree and finacea have the same antibacterial effect with other antioxidant benefits.
