Benefit You Rebel Lite misses the glow
Somehow wearing a minimal coverage foundation (ie, tinted moisturizer) just doesn't seem as rebellious as it once did. Nor does seeing David Bowie when "Rebel, Rebel" was big--and for Iman's sake, thankfully Dave's put away the costume. Likewise, wearing a foundation with sunscreen is just common sense.
Benefit You Rebel has long been a fave of the beauty media. I've worn it many a time--but this time I've tried out the new Benefit You Rebel Lite. It sounded like it should be right up there with my diet coke, brown rice chips--you know, all those "lite" things that hit the shelves once summer approaches. But the "lite" here is an acknowledgement that not all woment are created equal, and that like me, many are fair-skinned and if they once tanned, they're now shunning the sun.
My first impression of Benefit You Rebel Lite is, truthfully, why bother? I'm used to having a bit of color during the warmer months. And I'm obsessive about sunscreen. So this feels (and looks) like I've just put on a glorified moisturizer with the bare minimum SPF 15 sunscreen. I'd most likely use the original You Rebel tinted moisturizer version so at least I'd have a bit of color--and I find that one thins & smoothes out over my face well enough that the tint is not "obvious" or looking like a mistake.
Both Benefit You Rebel formulas contain moisturizing aloe vera to keep skin smooth and supple, while antioxidants, and Vitamins A & E make sure your skin is protected from free radical damage.
WiWi: Was it Worth it? I like the feel of the Benefit You Rebel formulas--but even with fairer skin, I still want a bit of a glow, so I'll stick with the original version. For me, even with just incidental sun exposure, I'd wear a stronger SPF under You Rebel--SPF 15 isn't high enough for my liking.
