Sure I know that there are numerous dermatological treatments in the market that can remove my age spots. And yes, I know that prevention is important and is easy as wearing a good sunscreen.
Building awareness and knowledge is great, but that doesn't change the fact that I've yet to go the dermatologist or that I didn't wear sunscreen for 20 years of baking on the beach.
That's why Bobbi Brown, appearing on the Saturday Today Show, had my undivided attention. Ms. Brown offered advice on how to conceal age spots. Her advice:
You need a yellow tone concealer. You need one that is one shade lighter than you skin. And concealer is for under the eyes, but when you have dark spots, you do a layer of concealer right on the spot, and then the trick is to use a foundation stick in the exact color of your skin right on top. We'll lighten it up. And then put a little bit of blush on top, and really you don't see it.
Her final comment was that you need to add back color that work with your skin tone. Go with rosy blush matched up with a natural lip color.
While you're at it, you should consider going with neutral tones in your wardrobe. Colors of the desert are the very much in.
