Final Results: It Works Paste For Mole Removal
If you recall, a RealSelf.com reader had asked about It Works Paste for mole removal, so I tried it. Well, I've given It Works Paste a few more weeks--8 weeks actually. And while I can certainly say that the mole (which, for the record, I had my dermatologist assess in July and it was not a mole of concern) I once had is completely gone, the scarring is not.

Sonya Dakar Says Try Aloe For Tired Eyes
One of my all-time favorite skin care treatments is eye gel. As an early morning antidote for puffy, tired eyes, it's hard to beat a refrigerated eye gel (so long as you don't grab the mayo instead). So it caught my eye when I read in the fall '08 issue of In Style Makeover that Sonya Dakar recommends aloe vera for puffy eyes. Aloe vera has long been used for its soothing, healing, and rejuvenating properties--and it is a gel--so why not?

What Radiesse Results Can You Expect?
Radiesse has a patient satisfaction study on its site. The study measured patient satisfaction with Radiesse and then compared it with satisfaction for Restylane, Perlane and Juvederm.
Needless to say, as these are popular cosmetic fillers, I had to compare the Radiesse study with the real-life reviews here on RealSelf.com. Here's how everything stacks up...

It's not often that Beauty Cred gets blatantly promotional. But when it's beauty backing a good cause...

Muscle Trainers Shaping Up My Butt
I DO NOT RUN.
Power walk, yes. Run, no. Not even jog. Don't like it, never had, never will. Which is why concepts like MBT's (Masai Barefoot Technology) and Muscle Trainers appeal to me. And Muscle Trainers in particular because running in them would be a very bad thing. Really. So here's my first impression...
Muscle Trainers have weights in their soles...

It's 10pm...do You Know Your Daughter's Skin Care Routine?
The little girl in this video probably doesn't even know what the Dove Campaign for Real Beauty is. But I'm thinking of nominating her--as their poster child. Here's why...
Oh, and before you jump all over me and suggest how she's "just mimicking her mom", let me state up front that I have a daughter myself and I get the whole wannabe-like-mom thing. So hear me out. Or better yet, here HER out:
I get laugh marks.
I get bags...and this vanishes those bags...it's not like a cover-up or foundation...

Crow's Feet Say You're Happy
The next time you notice your crow's feet, you might just see them in a different light. How? They might be showing everyone how happy you are.
At least that's what Elle magazine in their September '08 issue is trying to say when it featured a recent study conducted by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. The results revealed that photoshopping crow's feet INTO a picture of a young subject's eyes doubled the viewers' perception of her happiness.

What Happened To Noxzema?
Admit it! You used Noxzema. Right up there with Prell, Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific, Breck, Sea Breeze and Jean Naté. And while I'm at it, remember COLD CREAM?? Some are still around, some not. But Noxzema seemed like it would be around for ages--that wake-you-up tingly cleansed feeling that never over-dried and left you feeling like you were doing something good for your skin (if not your 6 a.m. psyche).

Repechage Drying Lotion Helps Acne Heal
If you're familiar with Mario Badescu's Drying Lotion, then Repechage HydraMedic Clear Complexion Drying Lotion will sound quite similar. In fact, they share some of the same ingredients including Zinc Oxide, Sulfur, Camphor and Salicylic Acid. But I was curious as to how the Repechage HydraMedic Drying Lotion would stack up vs. the Mario Badescu one.

Not So Sure About A Tummy Tuck? Try The Belly Bandit
Mommy belly, mommy tummy, baby belly. There are plenty of cute names for it, but somewhere around 3 months after giving birth, you realize that the beaming pride you once felt for that belly bulge is now a source of unwelcome self-consciousness. No doubt about it, post-pregnancy belly is something that bothers all mothers--it's frustrating, hard to lose, and it often seems like there just aren't options for women who don't want to undergo the knife.
So, enter the Belly Bandit.

Hyalis An Option For Post-Procedure Skin
Since post-procedure skin requires some extra TLC, it's best to use the skin care your doctor recommends. Short of that, there are some pampering moisturizers specifically developed for extra-sensitive post-op skin. One, NeoCutis Hyalis 1% Hyaluronate Refining Serum, was recently mentioned in Self magazine's August '08 issue.
NeoCutis Hyalis 1% Hyaluronate Refining Serum is a hyaluronic-acid-based formula--hyaluronic acid being the little gem known as the "moisture magnet" for its ability to hold up to 1,000 times its own weight in water.

New For Melasma Treatment: Octadecenedioic Acid
With melasma being one of the most common skin problems for women--and certainly a top concern of RealSelf.com readers, no doubt it's on the radar screen at most beauty companies. In their August 2008 issue, Allure magazine features Eucerin White Solution Spot Treatment, a new product that contains a relatively new skin care ingredient: Octadecenedioic acid.
Octadecenedioic acid is said to interfere with pigment production and proves to be effective at skin lightening; a study of 19 women showed melasma severity decreased by 40% in eight weeks.

NeoCutis Eye Cream Moisture Boost Worth It
I've noticed that as I've gotten older the skin around my eyes seems fine during the summer months (ok, so long as I'm wearing sunglasses and not perpetually squinting) but as we forge ahead into colder months, I find myself yearning for a more effective, moisturizing eye cream. I've recently been trying out NeoCutis Lumiere Bio-Restorative Eye Cream with PSP. NeoCutis is based in San Fran, but the products are made in Switzerland and I admit, there is some cache associated with "Swiss Skin Care"...
So here's my first impression...

Doctor-prescribed Care For Sunburn
I've got some advice for a friend of mine who is very fair-skinned and who had almost made it through the summer without even the slightest kiss of sun on her skin--until this week. And the sun kissed her quite passionately I might add. No, I won't tell her about sunscreen ex post facto--but there is something that recently appeared in Marie Claire (Aug. '08) for her to try for her sunburn: Biafine Topical Emulsion.

3 In-Home Devices For Hair Removal
We're just over the halfway point of summer--and if you're like me, while I'm big on shaving, I'm also a bit over it. So I started thinking again about alternatives to twin- (or triple-) blade hair removal. I've used the no!no! (and reviewed it as well) and, while it works, I truthfully don't usually have the time for it. But there are others to try as well...so if you're looking for an in-home hair removal device, Beauty Cred has 3 to offer up--one for every budget:
