A growing number of young folks (defined here as people under 30) are getting melanoma, the most serious form of skin cancer, says the American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons (ASDS). 3. Wait, doctors know how to use the Internet?

The Wall Street Journal, breaking the big story: Doctors are using the web and video hookups to interact with their patients. And this is news? We've been doing this on RealSelf for years! [WSJ]

4. Medicaid denies weight loss surgery claims

The obese poor are getting shut out of weight-loss surgeries; Medicaid, says one source, seems to "abitrarily reject" applications for surgical help. [HealthDay News]

5. Beauty product awards season

The Oscars of the beauty product world -- the CEW Awards -- happened last week. Neutrogena Face Puff and Garnier Eye Roller amongst the statue-winners. [BeautyStat]
