DDF's Discoloration Reversal Pods...am I missing something?
I don't have age spots...yet. But I'll admit to a discoloration here or there. So when DDF started advertising its DDF Discoloration Reversal-Pods--which claim to target whatever specific discoloration zone you want to target--heck, I was intrigued.
Here's my first impression of DDF Discoloration Reversal-Pods...
The first thing that strikes you when you go to open DDF Discoloratoin Reversal-Pods is the packaging. The outer packaging. There's a sleeve overwrap on the DDF Discoloration Reversal-Pods. Must be something important I figure so I read it. I then look at the main package of DDF Discoloration Reversal-Pods. Hmm. What do you know? The only difference between what the outer sleeve says and what the real package says is "New!". I won't tell DDF how to spend it's money, but ...
The second thing that strikes you is the DDF Discoloration Reversal-Pods product package itself--i.e., it's delivery system. Cute little pod-like packages. Like the GoSmile ampoule deal, only a bigger tip that's a sponge and a little pouch instead of a vial. (see at right)
DDF Discoloration Reversal-Pods are in pre-measured doses so you use one-per-application, and the package states you can use them day & night. The DDF Discoloration Reversal-Pods contain a fairly clear, almost watery serum that DDF claims will "fade the appearance of age spots". I swirl the serum on--no noticeable smell, no tingling.
I know I have to "allow 3-4 weeks" to see the true results. But here's my beef with DDF Discoloration Reversal-Pods...where's the beef?!?! If you remember that fast-food commercial from years ago, that's the feeling I have now. There just isn't much product in those little DDF Discoloration Reversal-Pods. I get the impression DDF isn't kidding when they say "targeted"! But I have a few "targets" I'd like to hit--so I'm guessing I have to crack open another pod. Which means with 28 DDF Discoloration Reversal-Pods per package, I'm good for maybe 14 days.
I'll keep you posted on my progress as I'm hopeful. I just may run out of product before then.
QUICK TAKE: DDF Discoloration Reversal-Pods tout what I'm looking for--a direct-on-the-spot discoloration treatment. The DDF Discoloration Reversal-Pods delivery system is beyond cute, totally portable and easy to use. But there just isn't much product in those pods to use!

Well...I'd love to say DDF's Discoloration Pods worked, but they did not. In truth, it came down to the amount of product in each pod and the rate of replenishment. Most skin brighteners/lighteners require a fair amount of time to work (usually at least 8 weeks) so that's a given any time you try OTC fading products. But while DDF has a tremendously convenient delivery system here, the use-up rate requires you to buy a few packages. So if you've got the patience for an OTC lightener, and don't mind spending the money, it may be for you. It wasn't for me. I've also recently tried NeoStrata HQ Plus, which is prescription-only in the US. I've been using it for almost 5 weeks now and haven't seen much improvement either. Bottom line is that if you're really seeking a solution for spot removal, your best bet is probably available at your doctor's office in the form of laser resurfacing or a peel.
