Going for gold with Avon Anew Ultimate Age Repair Elixir

Going for gold with Avon Anew Ultimate Age Repair Elixir

I'm holding Avon's Anew Ultimate Age Repair Elixir and feeling like I must be holding something special. Why? Not because it got an Allure mag Breakthrough Award. That's always nice, but no, it's the gold packaging.

Avon Anew Ultimate Age Repair Elixir oozes of preciousness as it sits in a golden inner vial encased by a clear outer mini-vase. There's something both 50's retro-glam and hi-tech about this Anew. I just washed my face, so it's now a good time to give Avon Anew Ultimate Age Repair Elixir a try...here's my first impression:

The information I have on Avon Anew Ultimate Age Repair Elixir tells me that it should "instantly make the skin on my face, neck and under chin feel firmer." Apparently it's Anew Ultimate Age Repair Elixir's "maximum level of Pro-Sirtuin TX Technology" that makes it so.

Avon Anew Ultimate Age Repair Elixir is a serum whose color is much like a foundation for light skin hues with a bit of a yellow undertone. And Anew Ultimate Age Repair Elixir doesn't feel like some watery serum--it glides on with a bit more richness than expected. The hi-tech pump of Avon Anew Ultimate Age Repair Elixir remains clear of product residue (aka "gunk") after each pump which is breakthrough enough for me.

I notice that Avon Anew Ultimate Age Repair Elixir does seem to tighten things slightly upon application. But it definitely dries with minimal hydration--not a bad thing as Avon has already forewarned me to apply moisturizer after Anew Age Repair Elixir. With Anew Age Repair Elixir, I'm supposed to see more elastic skin in 3 days...and fewer lines and wrinkles in 2 weeks. We'll see.

QUICK TAKE: Avon Anew Ultimate Age Repair Elixir certainly looks gold-standard and it does have a slight tightening effect upon application. It definitely requires a moisturizer though and hard to say what the long-term of it will be.

Have you tried Avon Anew UItimate Age Repair Elixir? Is Avon Anew Ultimate Age Repair Elixir worth it? Tell us what you think!

I bought this, with high hopes. I think 80% of the effects of these products are psychological.. but that said, it's not bad, and my skin DOES seem smoother and firmer.. however I have a strange thing that happens shortly after I put it on.. which impacts how often I can use it. My skin (or the serum??) starts to kind of peel off. very hard to explain.. it just kind of rolls into little balls if I am lightly rubbing my face, as in applying moisturizer. Not sure if it's skin.. or the elixer!? Anyone else have this happen?

I'm trying to post on as many sites as possible in hopes that someone at Avon will take note. Here's my opinion in a nutshell: great product, change the bottle. Yes, it's a beautiful bottle sitting on my bathroom counter. But that's not what I bought this stuff for. Positives: after only 3 weeks, I actually think this is working. I know I need longer, but unfortunately, I ran out in only 3 weeks. But due to the design of the bottle, I didn't know I was running out, and now, I'll be without for about 3 weeks (waiting for the re-order date with my representative, plus the time for her to place the order and get the product back to me.) Uggh. The product has a lovely golden glow that seems to enhance my skin from the moment I put it on. But that's just cosmetic, I realize. More than that, it has a great texture under make-up during the day, and before hitting the pillow at night. Plus, yes, it does seem to be diminishing some of the deeper lines on my 52 year old skin. I am blessed with great skin, most people, including cosmetic counter people, take me to be in my 30's. I really want to keep that going on! So, I surely hated to run out of this fountain of youth in a bottle. Avon, please rework it. I simply want some way to get every last drop out, and also to know when it's running low.

The 'little balls' mean that we are using too much of the serum. This has happened to me as well and that's when I know I'm overdoing it. My bottle only lasted under 3 weeks. It would probably last a month with 2/times day usage in the proper amount. As for the effectiveness, I do think it's one of the best I've ever tried and am admittedly shocked, because it is from Avon... I'm 42 and since my middle 20's I've been using only top brand-name cosmetics. From high-tech to natural, organic, you name it. I rarely, and I mean RARELY, have I ever bought a face/eye cream/serum for a second time. In fact only 2 times that I can remember. This will be the third. It definitely deserves it. It does what it says it will. And also for me, it does not make me break out, another rarity. I should add that the Ultimate age repair night cream they 'pair' it with is also pretty good, I started that a little later. It does firm skin, and in the morning it looks brighter, clearer, smoother, younger-looking. Great duo, will def buy again...
