Swallow your <a href=Bliss skin care supplements article is in this issue of Marie Claire" />The vitamin and supplements aisle at my local drugstore is a perfect representation of my ignorance as to what's good for me, what's needed in my diet, and what can I do to help ward off premature aging.   I found an article in a recent copy of Marie Claire that made my trip down the aisle much more fruitful and relaxing.  This post is based on their advice and others.

1.  Take antioxidants for antiaging skin care, skin plumping, and to hold back damage from free radicals.

Look for: CoQ10, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, alpha-lipoic acid, or selenium

Tip: Skip the supplement stores and save money.  If you have a trader joe's nearby, get their CoQ10.  Alternatively I recommend Costco.  More reader tips like these are at the forum post Cheap Stuff That Really Works For Me. Some Basic, Some Not.

2. Improve skin texture and tone, as well your hair and nail structure

Look for:  Vitamin B supplements.

Tip: Vitamin B3 is also called Niacin which medical experts believe help your skin and boost energy

3. Soothe skin irritation caused by conditions like psoriasis, eczema and acne

Look for:  Essential fatty acids (EFA), omega-3 and omega-6

Tip: if you're vegetarian or don't like the idea of fish oil (most common fatty acid source), look for alternative sources like borage oil or flax seed oil

More: Don't believe in omega, then you're disagreeing with beauty Christie Brinkley who relies upon omega fatty acids in her diet

4. Change your thinking that antibiotics are for good healthstonyfield

Look for: incorporate probiotics into your diet.  Yes, living micro-organisms can be GOOD for us.  Helps in the maintenance of a radiant skin tone.

Tip:  Stonyfield farm is one of the few yogurts that have probiotic micro-organisms and the only yogurt containing L. reuteri
