Dee Unruh, founder of Moor Spa, had terribly sensitive skin and was constantly trying new products that invariably made her skin become puffy, sore, red, and in a real mess. She was given some of the moor products to try, and she found that it did not make her skin sore and that the products were extremely gentle. Within a few months her skin was positively glowing with health.
Dee started the company from home and was determined to bring these gentle products to as many people as possible. Convinced that these products would sell themselves, Dee organised for a selection of the most popular products to be sent to the Harper's Bazaar Beauty Director. Harper's Bazaar were so impressed with what they had tried that they wrote a full-page article on Moor Spa and the therapeutic moors and the business took off.
