Ultimate UV Defense SPF 30 reviews
Ultimate UV Defense SPF 30 was worth itThis is THE best sunblock on the market!! It offers full UVA and UVB protection. While many sunblocks offer full UVB protection, few provide ample UVA protection. Without UVA protection, users remain suseptible to skin cancer and premature aging.
A sunblock's SPF rating scale pertains to UVB protection only. For example, an SPF of 30 means that a person wearing ample quantity of the sunblock can stay in the sun 30x as long as someone wearing no protection - to get the same damage!
SPF does NOT pertain to UVA protection. While regulators work on a rating scale for UVA protection, currently NONE exists. Therefore, to be certain that you have adequate protection, you should purchase a sunblock that at the very least says "full spectrum" UVA/UVB protection. The label "UVA/UVB" is not enough by itself. It merely means that there is some UVA protection.
Most sunblocks act as chemical barriers. Sunlight hits the surface of the skin and the energy released causes a chemical reaction. This reaction can cause allergic symptoms and irritation in young infants, children and adults with sensitive skin.
Skinceuticals physical UV sunblock acts as a physical barrier even though it is invisible. It is the only one I know of that is safe enough for children under the age of six months! Most of its UVA protection comes from Zinc. This is safe to use in infants with diaper rash! When the suns rays hit the surface of the sunblock-protected skin, the energy is completed deflected.
What is the hype about Mexoryl? It is new! While it may be preferred by darker skin individuals (the zinc can sometimes leave a slight whitish tint), it does not provide as broad spectrum UVA coverage as Skinceuticals Ultimate or Physical UV Defense!
