Proactiv Renewing Cleanser reviews
Proactiv Renewing Cleanser was NOT worth itThe active agent in Proactiv Renewing Cleanser is benzoyl peroxide...no magic here! In Colorado with our dry air and high altitude sun exposure, Proactiv tended to dry out the skin. For acne treatment, we found that there was a rebound effect after two-three months. Our first choice is Efficlar K.
Proactiv Renewing Cleanser was NOT worth itCan be drying and results are temporary and go away after discontinuing its use.
Proactiv Renewing Cleanser was NOT worth itNot impressed with results, patients tend to complain about ineffectiveness

Proactiv Renewing Cleanser was worth itMany of my patients who have used Proactiv cleanser and that have been happy with it have milder, superficial forms of acne. Those with cystic or inflammatory lesions did not notice much benefit. I agree that best results require consistent use and lesions do recurr once patients have discontinued using the product.
Proactiv Renewing Cleanser was worth itI love it! Doesn't dry out my skin, but leaves it soft and glowy.
Proactiv Renewing Cleanser was worth itA good cleanser per my own patients reports.
Proactiv Renewing Cleanser was NOT worth itThis product was too drying for my teens.
Proactiv Renewing Cleanser was NOT worth itWayyy too expensive and lasts longer than a month so they end up shipping you more than you need. 3 kits lasted me a year and a half. In their defense, I only use it once a day. It controls my acne. I noticed a difference, but it was slight. I agree it's more for mild acne and skin that has too much oil. Not really for dry skin. I'm now trying AcneFree and I thought it would be similar, but it's much better in a different way. Best part is the price, $5.95!!!! for a bottle that's double the size as compared to like $25 dollars.
Wouldn't waste my money on proactive.
Proactiv Renewing Cleanser was NOT worth itI found Proactiv's Renewing Cleanser to be over-drying and too harsh for my sensitive skin. The key for acne treatment is prevention by following a treatment routine daily. Since I couldn't use the cleanser every day, it did not treat my adult acne nearly as much as salicylic acid-based acne treatment systems.
After a lot of trial-and-error, I discovered that Neutrogenia's Clear Pore 2% Salicylic acid oil-controlling astringent kept my pores clear (thus preventing breakouts) without overdrying my skin.
Unless you have very oily skin, be careful about using Proactiv's cleanser. One other thing I didn't like about Proactiv was that I had to sign up for periodic deliveries.
