Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 85 was worth it
If you're a sun-shunner, you're probably already using this product. Dermatologists recommend it. It has a high-spf, does not irritate my sensitive facial skin, and is not as pore-clogging as alternatives (non-comedogenic is just a laugh).
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 85 was worth itI am very, very light skinned and get a sunburn so easily that I spend the entire summer in long sleeves, a long skirt, and a wide-brimmed straw hat. Even with all of that sun protection I'll still get burns on my neck and shoulders where they peek out of my shirt. I wear sunscreen religiously.
The thing is, I love being outside in nice weather and I hate being hot and sweaty in my long clothes but there's never been any way around it. I can slather on a ton of slimy sunscreen and feel miserable otherwise.
Anyway, I found this product and decided to try it. IT IS AWESOME. I put it on my face, and it really does finish dry, no slimy feeling, no slick residue, no grease - it's as smooth and soft as a regular facial moisturizer, and best of all it has a light floral scent that I LOVE. No more chemical sunscreen smell! So it already gets huge points for appeal and ease of use.
I just got home tonight from an entire day spent outside - first at my son's Little League game, after which I walked to a friend's house fifteen minutes away, then we visited with family and walked around downtown Portland all afternoon. I wore my long clothes and my hat for most of this time, though I did take my hat off when it got too windy.
Normally, after just a few hours outside my face will be flushed red and tinted from the sun, the skin will feel slightly tender and painful. After three hours of baseball and a walk in the broad sunlight, my face had NO additional color AT ALL. I was astounded. Now I'm home at 9pm and I can feel a slight spot of sun on my shoulder where I must have missed during application, but my face feels cool and completely normal as if I spent the entire day inside.
I am in love with this product. I am going out first thing tomorrow to stock up on more for the rest of the season. I can finally go outside during the day and do my gardening, take the kids to the beach (and use it on them!), just BE outside and not worry about ending up a sunburned, miserable mess!
