The Renova Company Line

“The only prescription cream proven to reduce certain clinical signs of photodamage associated with chronic sun exposure and the natural aging process when used as a part of a total skin care and sun protection program.”

The Bottom Line

According to Renova, starting a comprehensive skin care and sun avoidance program with Renova 0.02% cream can reduce signs of photodamage—and smooth out fine facial lines. The active ingredient in Renova is tretinoin, a derivative of vitamin A. Renova states clinical studies suggest that topical tretinoin increases collagen production and decreases collagen breakdown in the dermis to improve the skin's internal structure.  While Renova touts the anti-aging benefits of the cream, it does say that improvements will gradually emerge over the first 6 months of use, and that “Renova is ongoing therapy.”
