Prevage

Prevage

The Prevage MD Company Line

“PREVAGE® MD protects your skin from environmental stressors known to cause skin aging including UV light, air pollution, ozone, and cigarette smoke. The antioxidative power of PREVAGE MD anti-aging treatment has been shown to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as skin roughness and dryness, and to even skin tone to restore youthful-looking skin”

The Bottom Line

While non-prescription Prevage is available at Elizabeth Arden, prescription-strength Prevage MD is only available through your doctor. The Prevage MD formula promises to correct the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, while protecting skin against environmental stressors. How? Prevage MD’s key ingredient is Idebenone, which according to Allergan, the company which makes the treatment, is the most powerful topical anti-oxidant available. Non-prescription Prevage just launched its nighttime version: Prevage Anti-aging Night Cream, which claims to help skin compensate for--at least in terms of skin's appearance--problematic sleep, and professes to aid in skin's own overnight repair process to leave skin "repaired, refreshed and recovered".

Did You Know?

Allergan, the pharmaceutical company which makes and markets Prevage MD and partnered with Elizabeth Arden to launch non-prescription Allergan is also the company behind the well-known wrinkle treatment: Botox.

Next: Elizabeth Arden, Obagi, SkinMedica

I started using PrevageMD on April 8th, 2008 and in the early morning hours of June 16, 2008, I was awakened with itch and burning sensation on my face. The corner of my outer eyes were swollen and my face was red and my skin feels dry and rough and is also peeling some. I had never had an allergic reaction like this before. PrevageMD is the only new product I had added to my facial regimen so am sure it is what caused the allergic reaction. Don't know why it took so long for me have the reaction to it. I have been taking Benedryl for 2 days now and it seems to help with the itching. My face is still red and my eyes are still a little puffy but hopefully this will be gone soon. I am hoping to be able to get my money back. There are a of foods with anti-aging benefits so think I will go that route.

I googled prevage+allergic reaction after having a severe skin reaction to this product. I received a free sample with a magazine and applied it all over my face and neck. I awoke the next morning with puffy eyes and lips and a dry red itchy sunburn looking rash. It was so bad I was unable to go out for days and 1 week later my skin is only just looking normal again. I have never had a reaction to a skin care product or experienced anything else like this!

I used prevage eye serum, at first i thought it was great and smoothed the wrinkles under my eyes well. In second week my skin where I applied prevage were red and looked sunburnt. I stopped using it and returned to a simple regime. The worse thing is, the wrinkles around my eyes are now WORSE than they ever were before and I am not happy.

I tried Prevage MD and broke out in huge itchy red welts. I thought it was a food allergy-I have tried it three times now and each time I break out in the same red splotches. I am going to contact the company to ask what the ingredient is that contributes to the rashes that so many people have complained about.

I'm 27, and thought I'd try Prevage as a type of damage control. Everything was fine at first, then I noticed the skin around my eyes continuously flaking. It would get really dry, and scaly, so I'd slough it all off, and then the skin would be really red and raw. At that point the only thing that could relieve it was some polysporin. After using that for a day, I'd eventually go back to my old routine, and of course, it'd happen again. It kept happening so fast, it'd only take maybe a week for my dry flaky skin to be rubbed off, be smooth, then dry and flaky again--- IN A WEEK! I, like others here, didn't wanna believe that it was the prevage. But after reading reviews like these, I decided to stop using it. I kept up with just the polysporin, and my own makeup remover concoction of diluted baby shampoo and vitamin E. WOWWWWWW! What a difference! It's even better than when I was using Strivectin.

I am so glad for this internet blog page. I have had swollen face for 2 days and getting worse. I now know it is not the self tanner! I have been using the prevage and getting the bumpy rash. Now my face is so swollen, red, burning, and itchy. I am so glad I know now what has been causing it. Thanks for you comments. I will go to the coctor for a cure in the morning.

It started out as bumpy itchy face. I am now realizing that my swollen, red, itchy face is from my Prevage. Thank goodness for the blog or I would be at the emergency room tonight. I cannot believe my eyes are almost swollen shut. I will definitely not use this product again and should have been given a warning. I have been thinking it was my self-tanner.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT! I was given samples and the first week went great. Amazing Results! By the end of the first week I had a raised rash and a feeling of sunburn and itching all over my face especially around the jaw line. My eyes were swollen and red and underneath looked as if i had been burned. I have never had a problem with anything I have used on my face or skin this stuff is TOXIC.
