Meaningful Beauty is the outgrowth of famous-face Cindy Crawford's skin care experience under the care of London- and Paris-based dermatologist Dr. Sebagh.

Ms. Crawford had become a fan and devotee of Dr. Sebagh's, and had the time and means to jet across the pond to his Paris office as a "regular". But once Ms. Crawford started having a family and her trips to Europe became less frequent, she began to long for a take-home version of  Dr. Sebagh's formulas. 

Dr. Sebagh, who is touted as a pioneer in the use of Botox, collagen, vitamin and antioxidant injectables, worked with Ms. Crawford to develop products that contained the rare French melon extract--the powerful "first generation" antioxidant--that is at the forefront of the Meaningful Beauty line.

According to the Meaningful Beauty site, this rare melon is also "naturally enriched with coenzyme Q10, lipoic acid and minerals that are designed to help restore skin’s youthful radiance". One could question why Ms. Crawford doesn't just use Dr. Sebagh's own skincare line--but apparently she wanted to create a line that wouldn't "cost a fortune" and that could be enjoyed by many.

The result is that Ms. Crawford joined forces with Guthy-Renker (which also joined forces with Heidi Klum for her In An Instant line) to develop and market the Meaningful Beauty line.
