The Bottom Line
Founded in 1985, MAC—short-hand for Makeup Art Cosmetics—has come to be known for its bold advertising (remember RuPaul?) as much as for its in-favor status with professional makeup artists. MAC was originally developed for professionals who needed cosmetic formulas that could stand up to intense lighting conditions on-set at photo shoots. While MAC is largely known for its makeup, such as the VivaGlam line, MAC’s portfolio also includes anti-aging skin care. MAC Microfine Refinisher touts microfine crystals found in professional microdermabrasion, and two new MAC Moisturlush Creams (one for face, one for eye) promise to alleviate dry skin.

Real Simple magazine beauty editor top 20 beauty pick was MAC COSMETICS MINERALIZE SKINFINISH NATURAL, $24.50. They state: "If you hate getting foundation on your fingers in the morning, mineral powder is a good alternative. This one goes on light (but still covers dark spots and redness) and comes in a portable compact."
