Iman Cosmetics is based on the philosophy of supermodel Iman--"that women with skin of color represent many races, cultures and ethnicities"--and that the landscape of makeup at the time (1994), just didn't seem to reflect that notion. The Iman Cosmetics line is first and foremost a makeup line that includes a range of shades suitable for women of all colors as well as a style guide of get-the-look tips and how-to's. But the Iman portfolio also includes a skin care line that's geared toward skin type: Normal/Combination, Oily/Acne Prone, Dry/Mature--and an additional regimen to target Hyperpigmentation. Iman Cosmetics Skintone Evener is a Hydroquinone-free formula that touts the add-on benefits of antioxidant vitamins C and E to fight free radicals while helping fade discolorations.
