Christian Dior, the designer whose name is synonymous with the "New Look", opened his house of couture in 1946; it was only a year later that he stepped into the world of beauty with his fragrance launch of Miss Dior perfume. The Dior cosmetics line has expanded since to now include makeup and skin care. Most recently, Dior launched its breakthrough anti-aging treatment, L'Or de Vie, which was created in partnership with Chateau d'Yquem, which happens to be owned by LVMH who also owns Dior. Dior L'Or de Vie has two formulas: La Creme and L'Extrait. L'Extrait touts the continuous revitalizing power of d'Yquem in concentrated form to promise skin that is more elastic, supple and radiant. La Creme, which Dior states can be used alone, but ideally with L'Extrait, also claims the revitalizing power of d'Yquem to restore firmness and to smooth fine lines and wrinkles. The Dior L'Or de Vie formulas are sold exclusively at Saks and Neiman Marcus.
