The Avon Company Line
“The Company for Women is staying at the forefront of the beauty marketplace by bringing leading-edge, technology-based products to women around the world.”

The Bottom Line
No surprise that the industry press has used the word “makeover” to describe the Avon of today. Avon’s been around since 1886, and while a lot has changed since then, Avon’s basic sales model—“The Avon Lady”—is still how its products are sold. Avon prides itself on its technological breakthroughs such as being first to launch alpha-hydroxy acids in anti-aging skin care (its ANEW line). Avon’s lineup now includes a Retexturizing Peel and ANEW Clinical ThermaFirm Face Lifting Cream, an at-home alternative to thermal facelifts (or thermage). In addition, Avon’s product portfolio includes an anti-aging makeup line, Beyond Color, which touts patented technology to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

Did you know?
Avon’s CEO, Andrea Jung, believes in putting her money where her mouth is: she not only professes Avon’s tagline, “the company for women”, she ensures Avon lives it. From 1992 to 2006, the Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade raised more than $450 million in 50 countries worldwide for breast cancer awareness and education. That’s a lot of lipsticks!
