About Avene

According to the Avene website, the soothing and softening properties of Avene thermal spring water make it ideal for the care and management of sensitive skin and an essential ingredient in the Eau Thermale Avene skincare line. Avene Ystheal+ Cream touts two key ingredients—Retinaldehyde C.T. (which Avene refers to as a non-irritating form of vitamin A and the precursor of Retinoic Acid) to smooth away the appearance of lines and wrinkles; and Pre-tocopheryl, a stable form of vitamin E to provide antioxidant protection. Avene also touts the benefit of misting the mineral-rich thermal spring water itself directly onto skin—and there is an Eau Thermale Avene mister available to let you do just that. Avene may help soothe and calm eczema, contact dermatitis, and atopic dermatitis.  Avene is also used on skin irritated by a chemical peel, microdermabrasion, or laser treatment.
