Arcona is an LA-based company, founded in 1989. Arcona, a chemist and pioneer in holistic skin care, started the Arcona company as an alternative to cosmetic surgery. The Arcona philosophy is based on the principle that every woman can look her best at any age and that there needs to be an understanding that products applied topically to skin are actually absorbed into the skin--and, therefore, the Arcona line is comprised of natural ingredients including "high concentrations of antioxidants, plant lipids and extracts, sea vegetables, essential oils, vitamins and minerals." According to Arcona, it is the active and cosmeceutical-grade ingredients and the way they are processed (cold-processed in small batches) that ensures their effectiveness. The Arcona approach focuses on what it calls "the Basic Five"--a specific regimen based on individual skin type and need that is designed to work synergistically to "restore skin to its natural balance".
