I was born with monolids but they turned double as I grew older. The weird thing is that the crease only appears to be visible when I'm looking straight ahead but disappears if I tilt my head. I look like I have monolids from certain angles. Also, the crease makes the area between my brow and eye feel tight and strained. Is there a way to reinforce the crease but get rid of the heavy feeling?
I underwent Asian eyelid surgery last November. Surgeon removed a narrow strip of orbicularis oculi along the incision line & 2mm of skin. I can't fully blink or close my eyes and it has led to severe dry eyes. The gap is about 1mm in each eye. My lids feel tight and always in discomfort. I consulted an oculoplastic surgeon; he said the inner scarring seems tethered & if the gap is still there after 1 year, he might surgically remove the scars. What are my options going forward? Would 5-FU work?
Cannot lift R eyelid as well as L side. Crease on R eyelid isn't the sutured incision but another line right above it that accounts for 2nd crease right above sutured crease. Surgeon said it was skin caught during suturing. L eyelid just under sutured crease, there's a noticeable/ palpable bulging strip (also skin caught by sutures?) Any way to fix asymmetry/ possible ptosis on R eye if more skin and fat excised on R side? Just want something approaching evenness not looking for perfection.
I got eyelid surgery abroad 7 years ago. After the initial healing period, eyelids still felt swollen and thick. The surgeon said it required more time. Now 7 years later, it still feels very tight to look upwards, and aesthetically it still appears swollen and puffy, increasing in the past couple of years. If I wink, the other eye has a very indented crease. (gained 20 pounds from birth, but no other major changes.) Does weight gain play into this? Or poor surgery? Not sure what my next step is.
5 weeks ago, I got my double eyelid surgery done, along with upper & lower blepharoplasty. My concern today is my obvious asymmetry in my eyelid crease. (By the way, my eyelids are naturally double lids already but with few lines on them.) Now after the surgery, my right eye's crease incision lines are too high and crooked, which always me feel as if it's pulling my eye up all the time. Also, feels tight & uncomfortable. Very depressed now. Please help & tell me what options to fix my eyelids?
I had epicanthoplasty four months ago. Now the inner corners of my eyes have scar formation and feel tight, especially when I attempt to raise my eyebrows. Is this permanent or will my eyelids return to its normal softness? Also, my surgeon removed too much skin on the corner of my right eye, exposing the entire tear duct, and my lower eyelid is slightly detached from my eyeball. Sometimes I feel there's wind in my eye. Can surgery be performed to correct this and re-cover part of the tear duct?
