I had a tummy tuck and an arm lift 12 days ago. 2 nights ago i was changing my arm dressing and noticed that I had an opening in both arms in the armpit area. I asked my doctor he didn't seem too concerned just told me to keep it clean and to use these gauzes that he gave me. But rushed me off the phone. I'm not sure what to do. Should I go to the hospital and get it checked out?v
It doesn't appear infected. Should I see my PS? What should I do for healing? I must have over-done things a bit. But I honestly don't know what I actually did to have the incision open like this.
I am 6 weeks post op and my left arm just won't heal. It has a small opening which white pus(? Not sure) comes out of. A few pieces of internal stitches have also emerged. I have been keeping it clean and applying topical antibiotic ointment, alternating with airing it out. Shouldn't this be healing by now? I am going to the PS next week but looking for anything I can do now. The last pic is my other arm for comparison.
I had an arm lift with a three way stitch, and it opened under my arm pit. I've seen my doctor twice, this hole has been open for well over 2 weeks and is draining a green liquid with a slight bad odor. He says let it heal on its own; want to get your thoughts and see if you would choose to restitch.
I had a brachioplasty 2 weeks ago w a quarter size open wound in my left armpit, my surgeon is telling me to expose the area to air for a dry healing, however, I've read articles that encourage keeping the area moist w the use of Vaseline for faster healing, which do you recommend? Also, does my wound look normal or infected? My PS is 12 hours away, would it be appropriate to see my PCP for follow up and wound care?
i am 2 weeks post op of an arm lift. About a week ago i realized i had an open wound on both arms and can see a clear stitch coming out of the wounds. Also now there is a green/clear gooey residue coming out of both wounds. Is that normal for the healing process for the wound to close? Should i do anything to help the wound heal better? Also what should i do about the stitch coming out of the wound?
Hi, I had a brachioplasty with lipo 15 days ago. A few days ago I noticed minor separation on one underarm and pretty bad separation in the other. The doctor gave me Aquacel to dress it. She didn't seem very worried, explained this is very common in the underarms, and was optimistic that it would heal well. My question: How long should it take to heal? Does this mean I may have really terrible scars where the wound separated? On a happy note, the rest of the incision is healing wonderfully!
I had an arm lift and TT on May 16th 2014 5 weeks ago. Under my pits especially on the left side there is an opening that keeps oozing and is wet. The PS looked at it at the last two visits and said there is no infection and that this happens a lot because it is an area that perspires and has a lot of stress on it. Three days ago at my last follow up the PS put something on it (sulfur nitrate ?) that he said would dry it up and form a scab. It is still oozing and wet.
Week 1 my incisions opened under both arms. My surgeon closed both original openings with more sutures at 3 weeks. A few sutures did not hold due to poor surrounding tissue. Because I still have sutures close to the wound, what would you recommend for an expeditious recovery? I currently have hydrogel gauze or petroleum jelly. I'm not sure what to use because of surrounding sutures that are holding. Currently the wounds are covered with dry guaze. Thank you for your time.
