Currently on accurate and have been on it for about a year. Was on 40mg a day for nine months, stopped and got pimples after two weeks! So was put on 20mg a day for two months and currently on weekend therapy where I take 20mg a day on Saturday and Sunday. Will be on this weekend therapy until I run out of accutane which is about another two months. Any idea how long I have to wait after stopping accutane to get legs waxed or facial laser treatments? Thanks heaps!
I'm just about to finish my course of Roaccutane and my dermatologist told me he recommends waiting for one and a half years after stopping Roaccutane to wax or have laser hair removal due to the risk of scarring. I haven't had overly sensitive or dry skin and tolerated the Roaccutane well so I was just wondering if he is being overly cautious as it seems like a very long time to wait.
I just started acutane a few weeks ago and i didn't think of it when i decided to get my eyebrows waxed. Two days ago i got my eyebrows waxed and there is still red marks surrounding my eyebrows. I was also wonder what the best treatment might be to help the redness/scars go away? so far i have been putting ice in a towel on top of it twice a day and then putting neopsporin.
I'm on my 4th month of using accutane, which is supposed to be the 5th month but i stopped using it for almost a month, because my doctor's clinic is far away from us, i have to travel for 5hours just to get there. And as we all know, i can't buy med without the doctors' prescription. And for some time i've tried waxing my underarms, and so far i haven't seen any side effects and i'm thinking trying IPL, should i go for it? Considering that i'm not done with my course of accutane?
I have wanted to try Accutane for a year and a half, and finally have a prescription. When I mentioned waxing to my provider's nurse, she said it was okay to wax; however, I've read horror stories online of skin ripping off/scarring. My esthetician said absolutely no lasers and it would be risky to wax. Now that isotretinoin is a reality for me, I'm anxious about giving up my standing appointments to wax my eyebrows, lip, chin, brazilian. Do all patients have to give up waxing, and for how long?
I'm on 10 mg/day and I'm barely even a week through. Of course, I don't want to have hair lingering there for the next 6 months and I don't want my underarms to darken through shaving either. Is waxing okay? Huhu (Follow up question: what BCP are advisable while on accutane? I'm afraid to ask because she might tell my mom I'm sexually active lol)
