Im 165 pound male and I have received a rx for low dose 20mg accutane/day for occasional lower face cystic acne (maybe 1-2 small cysts/month) but when I do get them they can leave scars and take a week to resolve hence why I asked for accutane. How long must I remain on accutane? I would like to take the lowest possible dose which will still give long term results. Btw I was already on accutane regular dose when I was 15. I was acne-free for 15 years. Thank you!
have taken it 2 times 10 mg,6months / 20 mg 3months. My skin was wonderful but it's back.I would like to know the risks associated with taking it again. I have IBS & history of depression would take it again be dangerous for my long-term health? Could it aggravate my stomach issues and my mental health issues, it there something else I should try something else first( try doxycycline for 3 months but didn't work) my current medications: Vyvanse, Synthroid, Effexor, dexilant.
I've been on accutane before and it cleared my skin perfectly. But i started breaking out again about six months after stopping and i want to go on it again because i get cysts and scars. I dont know how to ask my dermatologist because it isnt as bad as before and i feel like its not severe enough for me to take it again.
I went on accutane for 7 months, with a cumulative dose of 115mg/kg. I am now 3 months off accutane and my skin has become extremely oily again with acne and seborrheic dermatitis. What would be a good dosage/treatment plan for a second course? Id like an opinion so I can discuss with my dermatologist. Thanks!
Ive suffered from acne since I was 11, I am 28 now and have been on abx, countless creams, spiro, birth control, accutane, everything. Accutane I took when I was 21 that seems to be the only thing that ever worked. However over the past couple years my acne is coming back even while being on birth control and spiro. I really want to go on accutane again bc I cannot stand this acne anymore. Im wondering if a second course of accutane would be beneficial for me.
I went on acctutane, 30 mg for 4 or 5 months. My skin broke out so bad. Huge cysts. I've tried everything you can imagine topical and antibiotics. I started breaking out again, it's been a few years but I started breaking out within a year after getting off accurate. I want to do a second round, but I'm scared I will have the same terrible breakout I did when I was on it. On average, do patients have a lesser breakout than the first time or is it about the same as the first?
I'm 29 1st round of Isotretinoin when 14-15 Tried a 2nd round when I was 18, stopped after a week b/c I couldn't stand the dryness (skin managed to clear up on its own) Skin has been acne-free since for at least 10 years now Started developing cysts again earlier this year, not as bad as the first time, Derm recommended another round for 6 months Some (what I consider) bad side effects so I WANT TO STOP! This round: 30mg-for the first 2 months60mg-past 2 months
