Hi, I am a 34 year old male who never had bad acne or oily skin. About six months ago, I started having very oily hair and face, mild to moderate scalp acne, and seborrhea (scaliness in my eyebrows and t-zone). I weigh 75kg and was prescribed 40mg of Accutane for 30 days. My question is, is this amount sufficient for a long term cure? Thank you
I tried accutane 1 year ago 40mg daily for 8m and all the oil of my face has gone but now after 1 year all that oil and blackheads are comming back. Im on retin A 3months but I dont see any change. I was thinking in asking to my dr for a logn term regimen of accutane in low dosage. Its possible to take it for long periods in low ammounts like 4 years , someone had try that? Can i use Clean Ac to moistiruzer my face,im affraid to put oily stuff on it. i dont use any moist and its very dry
Dear Doctors, I have had excessive production of sebum (seborrhea) from my nose pores since I was 16 years old. Since 5 years ago I get seborrheic dermatitis on my nose. My dermatologist prescribed 40mg/day Isotretinoin to treat the seborrhea - I weigh 80kg I read about low dose regimes of 2.5mg per day to control seborrhea but it is long term treatment. For seborrhea would 40mg/day and reaching target 120mg/kg dosage have more chance of permanent sebum reduction than the low dose regime?
I have adult acne and will be starting accutane next week. I also have excessively oily hair and have noticed my hair thinning since the acne has started up. After researching on the internet, I think I may have seborrheic alopecia as well. Will accutane help with this at all? Thank you.
