I'm in my 3rd month (of five) of Accutane treatment. So far, I'm pleased with the results, but I am dealing with typical side effects like dry skin/lips and joint pain. My question is, how long will those side effects last once I've completed treatment?
I have been taking accutane for 5 days now. I started experiencing back pain on the third day along with dryness. I know dryness is usual but, i thought back pain, and joint pain came later. Over the past two days it has gotten increasingly worse and now i can feel it in my neck. Will this go away in a few weeks? should i be worried? (I am taking 80mg a day)
I have oily skin on my face and I know the point of the treatment is to shrink the glands and reduce oil production. But I am worried that after my skin will be really dry and have no oily production at all. And I'm am wondering if I will have joint pains after the treatment as well?
I have been on Isotretinoin for about 3 months. I was taking 60 mg but my joint pain was so bad I could hardly walk. I went down to 30 mg but now I have lower back pain and muscle spasms. This is my 3rd medication to clear my skin (i'm 42) but i'm not sure I can keep taking this. Is all this normal?
I've been on accutane for 6 weeks at 60mg/day (112 lbs, 22y/o female). After the first month I only had lip and nose dryness. Now I am having moderate-severe joint pain and it's causing problems. My knees are in a lot of pain along with my middle-upper thoracic spine. I have never had a problem with my bones/joints before, and no trauma occurred. I'm willing to deal with the pain for now, but only if it's not permanent. So- is joint pain caused by accutane, and is it permanent? Thank you :)
Hi, I started a course of Accutane recently for facial acne. On the 3rd day started drying up as expected lips, nose ect but my eyes also dried up badly and were and still sting and are red. On the 5th day I decided I'll deal w acne and stopped my treatment. I haven't took a pill in 2 weeks but my eyes are getting worse they sting and sensitive to light as well as joint pains, headaches, Is it possible that permanent effects could be done w such a small total dosage (200mg)total. I'm worrisome?
I am on roaccutane for 4 month now. It was ok so far a part from the usual side effects, however after increasing the dose to 40mg a day, I developed joint and muscular pain specially on the beck of my neck (it is like a constant stiff neck),I can not move normally. Is there any painkiller I could possibly take in order to help to end up the pain? I am loking forward to hearing from you. Thank You!
I am beginning Accutane treatment in two weeks. My biggest conern is that almost everyone who uses the drug complains about achy joints. I am a professional dancer and have a huge gig coming up in August. Is there anything I can do while taking Accutane that can prevent/lessen this side effect? Are there certain dietary/supplementary changes I should make to ease the process along?
was on accutane 10mg per day (often skipped a dose or two per week) for 5yr. I stopped taking it 3 months ago. I still have muscle, joint, tendon soreness. Once I get sore from exercise it heals slowly. I had this issue while on accutane. What should I DO? HOW LONG will it take to go away? I should mention I was also on accutane at 120mg (started off at 80mg and went up to 120mg) for 5 months about 8 years ago. And about 12 years ago I was on accutane at 40mg for months.
