I had severe acne so my doctor prescribed me to Accutane. After six months of using it my face was completely clear. After I stopped using it I would continue to wash my face every morning and night and about five months later my face started to break out really bad again
But derm put me on face wash for dry skin but i have oily skin. The day cream with the SPF is making me darker as well. My pimples have spread even more. But I am using Roaccutane now for 5 days. Please advise. Desperate
Hello. I have mild to moderate acne and I am on my fifth day of accutane( 30mg). I just encountered mild dry lips but when washing my face with an acne cleanser for oily skin ( i feel my skin becomes irritated). I don't know if I should use a cleanser for oily or dry skin so am temporarily not using one. Please recommend a type of cleanser.
I am about to start Accutane as approved by my dermatologist. I have already started the ball rolling and I am waiting the month to start for a second negative pregnancy test. I ran out of face wash so I picked up a new one to hold me over. After three days of use, my skin started burning and peeling especially around the mouth and cheeks. Now (fourth day) it is completely red and scaly and hurts to touch. If I am having this reaction to Salicylic acid, is it still safe for me to try Accutane?
I have very oily skin with enlarged pores, blackheads, and moderate acne. I currently control the acne and blackheads with an antibacterial facewash (containing Triclosan), twice-daily application of a 2% BHA exfoliant (pH 3.2-3.6) and nightly application of 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide. I am considering undergoing a course of low dose Accutane (0.15mg/kg/day) to reduce oil production and control my acne. Is continued usage of my BHA permissable for general exfoliation purposes?
