So Im from the UK and Ive never met with a acne specialist, only free NHS nurses who suggested I go on accutane. I have pitted scarring and thats my main concern. Im on the pill and its controlled my acne nicely with occasional cysts that develop into scars. Theres strong chance I have pcos (had an mri showing small sacs) and that my acne is a hormonal problem which means acne will come back after accutane. I dont want to stop treating my scars. I feel stuck.
I've been dealing with hormonal acne on my face & back for years and after blood work I was diagnosed with PCOS. I've been to many dermatologists but all they do is prescribe tons of antibiotics and clindamycin gel. OBGYN put me on birth control pills but I had terrible side affects and had to stop. Tried different bc pills too, nothing helped. I go to Mexico to buy Retina which works well but I still break out. Tried spironolactone, had a heavy period EVERY single day. Please help, thank you!
I have PCOS. Will accutane work for my acne? I took accutane years ago and my acne was gone for 5 years. Now I've been Diagnosed with PCOS. My facial and body acne is closer to mild than it is severe. I do however get 1-2 large painful pimples on my body once a month.
I have polycystic ovaries and bad, persistant acne. My derm says that the best option for me is a low dose isotretion course along with the oral contraceptive diane 35.i took diane 35 once, many years back and i remember i broke out more on it..wont it interfere with the efficacy of isotroin if i take it now ?kindly help.
I am currently on accutane and have noticed the keto diet has helped my PCOS/ hypothyroidism and would like to continue keto while on the round of accutane but my dermatologist has instructed me to come off leto bc of the strain it puts on the liver but I would like some more opinions on this. Thank you!
