Ive been on accutane for 6 months. I took 20mg for 2 months and then 40mg for 4 months to finish the course. After a week of being off of accutane, my acne is coming back. When I approached my doctor about accutane the first time he had no idea how it worked whatsoever to the point where I was guiding him through the whole course and explaining to him how it works. I want to go on a second cycle and I really want someone to guide me through it. What should I tell my doctor?
As a teenager, I had severe breakouts and went on Accutane with success. Seven years later, occasional breakouts became more severe and I went back on Accutane. Initially, my skin cleared up, but around the fourth month I started developing cystic acne again. My mom has also struggled with acne and has taken Accutane twice with mixed results. The first time it went well for her, but the second time she saw no results. Is this a normal course of events during treatment? Male 145 lbs 80mg / day
My doctor said it can take 4-9 months, do you reckon that is on the maximum dose? I've been on 20mg then 30( currently on 40mg just started). My skin has improved a lot with just 20 mg and 30. I just want reassurance as I want them go so badly. I weigh 66kg is the maximum dose 60? Leaving your own personal experiences would help me out a lot. Thanks in advance. :)
I have finished taking Accutane about 5-6 months ago. Now, I have been applying Stieva-A (same as Retin-A) 0.025% for 2.5 months (still breaking out though). I decided it would be better to stop applying Stieva-A and plan on getting actual acne scar treatments. What treatments would be the best option for my scars? I have been suffering from acne and scars for almost entire my life... I am extremely stressed. Please advise me.. Thank you very much.
I have been off accutane for six months (my course was 20mg 8 months of treatment) however I still have two side effects that really concern me, hair loss, thinning and chapped lips (peeling every other day). I have done a blood test to check things like TSH (1.86) vitamin b12 (362 pg/ml) Cortisol (20.73 ug/dl) Testosterone (5.86 ng/ml) prolactin (23.44 ng/ml) E2(54.95 pg/ml) HGB (16.3 g/dl) MCV (92.7 f/L) Im 28yo, 5.7 and 176 lbs. How can i treat that? Is it permanent damage?
Im 22, 50 kgs.. my derm put me on accutane after topical tretinoin. Its been more than 6 months being on accutane but i still get episodic break our every one or two week which will last 4-5 days and will get normal again.. Ive never been on less than 40 mg a day except the first month.. after that Ive been on 40,80,80,40,40,60, and currently on 80 again..same thing is happening.my derm left it on me to decide if i wanna continue further or 2nd cycle. Idk if accutane didnt work wht else will
I did a 6 month course of accutane and have been off it since April. The reason I went on accutane was excessive oil and some cystic acne. My skin is still very oily and my pores are very large. I also have scarring on my face that was not there prior to being on accutane. The last month that I was on the medication, my skin was clear, oil free, and my pores/scarring were not as visible. Can I go back on accutane to maintain how my skin looked the last month? Can accutane cause scarring?
What should i do to get clear skin? Should i take pills for more time or should i make a peeling? I really need a solution within 2 months... Because 2 months later i'm obliged to visit fields all day as i'm studying agriculture engineering
I have been off accutane for 6 months and i use to have olive colored skin now i look like a corpse. Its like it decreased my melanin and took out all my color and left me lily white with a little red/pink around cheeks. The sun doesnt hit me like it use too. I just want my regular skin tone before i took accutane!
I Finished my accutane treatment as of march 1 but I was left with much scarring. I know that you must wait 6 months before cosmetic procedures such as resurfacing and chemical peels can be done but I was wondering if i could use mederma in the mean time without causing problems with the healing process.
