Im 165 pound male and I have received a rx for low dose 20mg accutane/day for occasional lower face cystic acne (maybe 1-2 small cysts/month) but when I do get them they can leave scars and take a week to resolve hence why I asked for accutane. How long must I remain on accutane? I would like to take the lowest possible dose which will still give long term results. Btw I was already on accutane regular dose when I was 15. I was acne-free for 15 years. Thank you!
I weigh 160 lbs and was prescribed claravis for 6 months. My first month was 40 mg per day. Month 2-6 was 40 mg alternating with 80 mg every other day. I was just taken off the medication after 6 months but still have about 2-3 breakouts. Do you think my acne will come back?
I am a 21 year old male, weigh 155lbs and am 4.5 months into my accutane course. My back has 100% cleared up but my neck and chest are still breaking out in cystic pimples. What am I doing wrong? I eat healthy, exercise, shower and wash my face twice a day, I'm taking the pills with high fat meals. I'm getting pretty depressed because I feel like it will never work. My dosage so far has been month 1: 40mg per day, month 2: 60mg per day, month3: 70mg per day, month 4: 80mg per day, month 5: 80mg per day.
Hello, I have been on Accutane for around 12 weeks now. Accutane was primarily for my chest and back not as much for my face. When I began to get the breakout everyone seems to get while on accutane, my jawline broke out quite badly and has never seemed to heal. My jawline is quite red and has been since around week 3. Also My back and chest have gotten little improvements... The first month was 40mg/day and then then next two months have been 80mg/day. I am 17 years old and weigh about 155 lb
This is my 3rd time taking accutane... I worry about hair loss so my doctor said low dosing will prevent that so I would like to stay on 40 mg for the entire course if possible. To prevent relapse do I need to reach a total dosage (Ive heard 8,000-12,000mg total treatment) for high success. If I weigh 160 lbs, on 40 mg a day, will I need to stay on accutane for 8/10 months low dose to reach that total dosage to avoid relapse? Thanks so much!
I'm in my 5th month of Accutane and want to get a tattoo on my shoulder. I weigh 73kg and take 40mg twice a day. Can I safely get a tattoo now, or should I wait until the beginning of March (four months after I quit taking Accutane)? The only side effects I experience at this point are bloody nose and fragile epidermis (as in, if I bump against something, I get shallow scrapes but no blood).
I'm on 20 mg per day for 7 days a month for a 10 month course. I weigh 72 kilos. Now I'm on my 2nd month and don't even see any improvements. Every week I am breaking out cystic acne which I didn't always have before starting my accutane. When I consulted my dermatologist I just weigh 65 kg. Should I go back to him because I gain weight? And I am really depressed and stressing myself because school is coming. I think my accutane dosage is too low for my case. And my course is too long.
I have been suffering from acne for over 5 years now it started with my face and went down to my body and slowly progressed , i workout a bit and determined but acne really destroyed my self steam and specially because i got such a bad acne i cant go to anywhere, i am feeling kinda hopeless and accutane is my last option can any of you please help me and mentally support me ?! any advise would be appreciated , and well accutane really work for me ?Male 75 kg , 17 years
Basic info: 5 month course of accutane, 40 mg/day 1 month, 60/day for the rest, 160 lb male, finished 3.5 mo ago. (19 years old) My skin never really acted up to much, worst was about a year ago (18 y/o) very rarely any cystic, probably only 2-3 I can remember ever, otherwise mild. Based on my age and acne type, are the chances of acne returning low? Also, since I stopped I sometimes get these tiny red marks that are flat, i think they are caused by my bha cleanser, is this possible?
