Tumescent liposuction is a cosmetic plastic surgery procedure for contour and sculpting the body. During tumescent liposuction a large volume of fluid containing local anesthetic and adrenaline is injected into the tissue. This solution temporarily shrinks capillaries and hardens or "tumesces" fat that is then removed.
